WELCOME TO TONY'S PAGE

"Hey everybody!  Welcome to my Anchorage to Valdez charity ride homepage!  I'm going to be riding 360 or so mile from July 17th through the 23rd in support of Pedals for Africa.

PFA is a great little organization that raises money to buy low cost, low maintenance bicycles for children in
Ethiopia and Malawi.  With bicycles, these kids can travel to schools that they normally couldn't travel to, and get an education.  We really take our education system for granted here in America.  How many of you actually wanted to get up and go to school in the morning when you were a kid?  It's the opposite for these kids, though.  They really want to go, but don't really have the option since school is so far away and they have no way to get there.  They don't have big yellow buses or soccer mom carpools.  They want to learn.  They want to make better lives for themselves.  They want to help make better lives for their families.  So help me help them with a donation.

On a side note, countries and communities fall apart from the inside out when people aren't educated.  Without access to proper education, the potential of future generations is being wasted, and it's society as a whole that will bear the blame and the burden.

My goal is to raise $1600.  Most of this is going directly to the kids.  The nice thing about a small charity is that there's little overhead.  I won't mention any other non-profits by name, but PFA doesn't waste thousands on fancy laminated signs that they put up every other mile of charity rides.

So please help out!  Click the 'Donate' button below and help out with what you can.  Every little bit helps, I promise.  Five dollars here and ten dollars there adds up pretty quickly.

If anyone hasn't used PayPal (read: not up on internet), it's simple to sign up for and is highly reputable.  I've been using it for years and have never had an issue. Alternatively, you can click on the donate button and use most major credit cards; you don’t need a PayPal account to do this.

Also, if anyone wants to donate a can of bear mace too, that would be cool.  I'm only partially joking...
