PROJECT ETHIOPIA We will be providing bicycles to Shimbet Primary School located in Bahar Dar, Ethiopia. They are for students who show excellence in education and who travel long distances to get to and from school. They have a student population of approximately 2870 and serve grades 1 through 8. Although the Shimbet Primary School is located in a moderately large Ethiopian city, many of the students come from outlying rural areas. The principal, Abeje Alemayehu, informed me that many of his students travel several miles to attend school. The students travel to school by foot and use public transportation. For many of the students, just getting to school is a daunting task. We want to ease this burden and allow more time for them to study and do well academically by providing them with bicycles.
We will also be working in the more remote communities of the Gondar region. Where life is harsh and getting to school is very difficult.
Let us work together to educate the next generation!!!
The individual is esteemed essentially for his capacity to act in order to stay in harmony with others. He is assessed and valued the more for his role in sustaining the community and its togetherness. -Dr. Raymond Johnson
